The NiSi VND 1-5 True Color is a variable neutral density filter that provides exposure reduction from 1 to 5 EV.

The density, the ND factor, is infinitely adjustable by rotating the filter.

The degree of density can be easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring with or without the attached silver lever, allowing you to predetermine the additional exposure length required.

The filter has built-in stops when turning to the end positions, so the user knows where he is during the action.

To facilitate repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is marked with numbers corresponding to different alloy values. The ring features silver side tabs for a secure grip and easy installation and removal.

For those using this filter with cinema or video cameras, the combination of iris control and this filter allows fine adjustment of the depth of field while maintaining the designated frame rate.

This is very useful for both photography and video as you can fine-tune the amount of light entering the lens for each scene.

In this way, larger apertures and/or slower shutter speeds can be used than would otherwise be possible under the given lighting conditions.

The advanced nano coating repels water, grease and dirt, making the filter easy to clean.

A thin filter ring ensures no risk of vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses.

The filter ring is made of high-quality aluminum, which makes the filter very light and durable.

For best results, we recommend using the Variable ND Filter with lenses with a focal length of 35mm or more (full frame).
