Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual or the next revolution in aerial thermal imaging

In 2015. DJI and FLIR demonstrated the XT camera to the world, there was a revolutionization of the drone segment for industry. With the release of the Mavica 2 Enterprise Dual, they seem to have done it again. And why? To answer briefly-because as of now, airborne radiometric measurement and thermal imaging logging are definitely faster, simpler, yet still precise and highly advanced.

FLIR Lepton

Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual is equipped with the smallest thermal camera manufactured by FLIR Systems- FLIR Lepton. At only 90 g (with shutter, 55 g without shutter), it still retains features such as:

FLIR MSX® - multispectral dynamic imaging technology that creates a more detailed, sharper image; this feature increases real-time contrast in thermal imaging; analysis and report generation time is reduced.



Spot Meter - shows the averaged temperature of an object helping pilots monitor and measure critical and dangerous objects while maintaining a safe distance.



Area Measurement - shows the averaged, lowest and highest temperatures along with the exact location data of the area, allowing you to quickly evaluate objects and determine if an object may be overheating.



Isotherm - allows operators to designate any temperature ranges that are displayed using a custom color palette, which dramatically improves, for example, the identification of people or hot spots in fires.

Video camera

The drone allows us to observe and record important details in difficult conditions both close to events and away from danger-it has dual optical zoom and triple digital zoom; the drone captures images with accurate time and GPS location.
We will record visible images thanks to a 12 Mpix camera in up to 4K resolution at 30 fps./s. Recording of photos, of course, in format, in addition to the obvious JPG, RAW (DNG).

The drone is equipped with technologies already known from the Mavic 2 Enterprise: the system DJI AirSense and improved technology FlightAutonomy and transmission Ocusync 2.0

Given the capabilities of the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual, one would expect the drone to weigh a lot, and most importantly- an abnormally high price.
Well, the drone, according to the manufacturer's website, weighs exactly 899 g (without modular accessories), and its price is 12,499 PLN!

Summary

The Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual uses a number of cutting-edge technologies and is a compromise to the aerial thermal imaging that has been available until now. High functionality at a relatively low price allows its use to become more widespread. It also increases the efficiency of the actions for which it can be used-before a drone for tens of thousands of zlotys with a camera of similar value mounted, the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual will already be in operation.
