Learning to fly a drone-first steps

If one were to ask drone enthusiasts how their adventure with these machines began, one would probably hear a wide variety of stories-from a sudden fascination that took hold of someone, to a gradual conviction to unmanned flying vehicles. Let's assume that you are just at the beginning of your journey in the world of drones. Where should we start to build our knowledge and what learning to fly looks like by drone?

First, get an idea of the regulations governing drone use and general safety rules, if we have to fly professional drones. In addition, it would be good to have at least a basic understanding of the construction of an unmanned aerial vehicle, because in case of minor damage, we will be able to make the necessary repairs ourselves. Jhowever, currently drone manufacturers are designing and building the final models so that we don't have to look inside the drone.

Flying a drone step by step

When thinking about buying your first drone, consider rather amateur or at most semi-professional equipment. First attempts at flight are sometimes quite clumsy and often result in propeller damage or unforeseen crashes. To learn basic maneuvering it is enough to toy drones at prices not exceeding PLN 200. They are also recommended for another reason-their small size. Usually when talking about flying a drone, an open space comes to mind; however, for learning, an equally good environment will be the interior of a home. The advantage of "flights" held in an enclosed space is the absence of a factor over which we cannot control-unexpected changes in weather and gusts of wind.

Learning to fly a drone based on the experience of other enthusiasts

It's also worth connecting with other drone enthusiasts. This can be done, for example, by signing up for the appropriate group on social networks or by searching for forums on the Internet. This will give us access to a lot of news from the world of UAVs and the knowledge and experience of other members of the group. In addition, from time to time there are festivals and gatherings of drone fans, so it is also worthwhile to be interested in participating in such events.

Training under the guidance of specialists

However, if you are craving more professional knowledge, it is worth your while to look into the training courses offered by many companies in Poland. They will help you get acquainted with both the basics of drone steering and, at a later stage, more complex issues.

Keep in mind, however, that even if you already have the right skills, you can't afford to do everything-in many respects, aviation law is quite restrictive on the subject of flying unmanned aerial vehicles. If you do not have uAVO qualification, you can't use the drone for commercial purposes and sometimes you may not get permission for drone flight in city centers, let alone flying near airports and government buildings. In addition, one fact should be taken into account, often overlooked by people going abroad-local laws may differ significantly from the norms adopted in our country. So it is worthwhile to study them in advance, at least briefly, in order to avoid unpleasant situations that may later end in the confiscation of equipment or even suspicion of espionage. Although the beginnings of learning to fly a drone can be difficult, it is certainly worth finding the self-denial to master the control of these machines, as it will open up a whole new world and give you the chance to meet fascinating people.
