Can Osmo Mobile 2 hold any phone?
Osmo Mobile 2 is suitable for phones that are 58.6 to 84.8 mm wide and up to 8.4 mm thick. This is therefore the majority of phones on the market today, from the iPhone SE to the iPhone 6s Plus and Android phones of similar size. Please note that different kinds of accessories attached to your phone may affect compatibility with the gimbal. Any shape-related factors, such as side buttons, should also be considered.
How to launch the Osmo Mobile 2 for the first time?
- Step 1: First, make sure the OM2 is properly charged by connecting it with the charging cable to the micro USB port on the right side of the Osmo Mobile 2. If the battery level is low, the Osmo Mobile 2 will not start up.
- Step 2: Mount your phone on the Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal and set the balance.
- Step 3: Press and hold the power button for three seconds to start the Osmo Mobile 2. Turn on the DJI GO app and select Osmo Mobile 2. Follow the instructions in the app to complete Bluetooth connectivity, registration and activation.
Does my smartphone need to meet any hardware requirements if I want to use Osmo Mobile 2?
Osmo Mobile 2 uses Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to your phone. Although Bluetooth 4.0 has become the standard on current phones, we suggest checking their compatibility in this regard by again checking your phone's specifications.
How do I change the mounting position of the phone?
Take the phone out of the phone holder. Loosen the handle lock knob (Holder Lock), then follow the given instructions and rotate the phone holder 90 degrees to set the horizontal or vertical orientation. Tighten the Holder Lock knob and reinstall your phone.
How do I switch between SmoothTrack mode and Lock mode?
With the Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal turned on, press the trigger once so you can switch between SmoothTrack mode and Lock mode. In SmoothTrack mode, the Osmo Mobile 2 will smoothly follow the movement of your hand to reduce unintended shaking.
How to center the Osmo Mobile 2?
Make sure the gimbal is turned on and operating normally. Then quickly press the trigger twice to center the gimbal.
How do I switch between front and rear camera?
With the Osmo Mobile 2 connected to Bluetooth on, quickly press the trigger three times to switch between the front and rear cameras.
How to take close-ups with the Osmo Mobile 2?
A new zoom slider has been added to the Osmo Mobile 2 on its left side so you can zoom in or out freely.
Can I use auto calibration with portrait orientation?
Not.
Can I use ActiveTrack, Timelapse and Pano functions with vertical orientation?
Yes.
How do I get Active Track to work?
Tap the measurement icon at the bottom left of the app to switch to ActiveTrack mode. Select an object on the screen to track it as it moves.
Does the resolution of the front and rear camera affect the ActiveTrack feature?
Not. Camera resolution does not affect ActiveTrack performance.
What are the differences between Timelapse, Motionlapse and Hyperlapse ?
- Timelapse is suitable for recording elapsed time in a fixed scene by mounting the Osmo Mobile 2 on a tripod or base.
- Motionlapse allows users to record Timelapse video by setting up to five camera points. Set, for example, point A and point B, then the video will start at point A and end at B.
- Hyperlapse allows users to record anything that appears in front of the camera while they hold the gimbal in their hands walking.
Can I set the camera parameters in the DJI GO app?
Yes. You can manually set the parameters in the Camera Settings menu. Note that this feature is only available on iOS devices.
Can I set the speed of the joystick?
Yes, you can select and set slow, medium and fast joystick speed in the app.
Can I set the image resolution in the DJI GO app when I record a video?
When recording a video, the video resolution of the DJI GO is set to 720p by default. You can change the resolution of the image in the application. However, the maximum image resolution depends on the camera on your phone.
Do the camera settings in the DJI GO app directly affect the image resolution of my phone?
Not.
Is there anything in the app that will tell me how much memory I have left on my phone for recording?
If you are using iOS, the app will tell you how much memory is left for the recording. Unfortunately, this does not apply to Android users.
Can I use Beautify and ActiveTrack during live broadcasts?
Yes.
Can I broadcast the video live through external video platforms? Like?
Yes. Go to Settings, Choose Live Broadcast Platform, select Custom Options and enter the platform link to broadcast live video.
What is the difference between Walk and Sport modes?
These two modes have been specifically optimized to reduce the various vibrations generated during walking and running. The most important difference between these modes is the speed at which the gimbal tracks your movements. In Sport mode, the gimbal closely tracks your movements and is suitable for recording fast-moving objects. In Walk mode, the gimbal moves slower when you walk.
Can I manually adjust metering, focus and zoom when I shoot video in Motionlapse mode?
Not. To ensure optimum image quality, manual setting of these functions is disabled when video is recorded in Motionlapse mode.
How many points can I set when I record video in Motionlapse mode?
A maximum of five.
Can I also save the original photo when I use Panorama mode?
Yes. Go to Settings, press the Camera icon and choose to enable or disable the function that saves original photos.
What is Pitch Lock mode?
Movement of your hands in the tilt axis does not affect the direction of the camera on your phone.
Where the photos and videos taken with the Osmo Mobile 2 are stored?
For iOS users, these will be stored in DJI GO. For Android users, you can decide whether you want to store photos and videos on your phone or on an SD card.
Can I use Beautify to take photos and videos?
You can use Beautify in both cases. Beautify can be used to take individual photos or photos taken with a timer. This function can also be used when recording 720p videos.
Is the Beautify function available when using both the front and rear cameras?
Yes.
Are all features available for Android and iOS?
Osmo Mobile 2's recording capabilities depend on the type of system used on your phone. As a result, Android users may not be able to use the fully optimized features of Osmo Mobile 2. How much is the charging time and battery life of the Osmo Mobile 2? Can I replace the battery?
It takes 2 hours to fully charge, and the battery life is 15 hours*. Built-in battery cannot be replaced.
* Under ideal conditions, when the gimbal is fully balanced.
How the Osmo Mobile 2 charges? What is the maximum charging current for this gimbal?
You can charge Osmo Mobile 2 via micro USB port located on the right side of the handle. The maximum charging current is 2A.
How the Osmo Mobile 2 charges the mobile device and at what voltage?
Osmo Mobile 2 charges mobile devices via the micro USB port on the back of the handle. Gimbal exports 5V voltage and 1.5A current.
Can I use Osmo Mobile 2 when the gimbal is charging a mobile device?
Yes.
How do I know which device is mine when several Osmo Mobile 2 gimbals are near my phone?
Each Osmo Mobile 2 receives a unique serial number, which is located on the left side of the phone holder. You can easily locate your device by finding the serial number. You can also rename your device in the DJI GO app.
What to do when I want to connect the Osmo Mobile 2 to another phone?
Disconnect the previous phone and turn off Bluetooth on it. Then combine DJI Osmo Mobile 2 with another smartphone.
Are all Osmo accessories compatible with Osmo Mobile 2?
Not. Most Osmo accessories are not compatible with Osmo Mobile 2. However, the Osmo Tripod is compatible with the Osmo Mobile 2 and can be mounted to it through the newly installed mounting hole located at the bottom of the gimbal.
What is the size of the mounting hole at the bottom of the gimbal? What accessories go with it?
The mounting hole on the bottom of the Osmo Mobile 2 is a standard 1/4 - 20 UNC thread. It is compatible with Osmo Mobile 2 Base, Osmo Tripod and other third-party accessories.
Can I attach an external lens to my phone when using Osmo Mobile 2?
Yes. However, the external lens may affect the balance of the gimbal. Large, heavy lenses are not recommended.
