How many ways to fly the Mavic Air and how to change control methods?

There are three ways to fly the Mavic Air. You can use a dedicated remote control, a smartphone or both at the same time. Mavic Air connects to smartphone via DJI GO 4.

How to activate the Mavic Air?

Connect the Mavic Air to your mobile device and follow the instructions on the DJI GO 4 to complete activation.

Is the Mavic Air waterproof?

Not.

Can I connect my smartphone to the remote control with a regular USB cable?

Yes. You can use a regular USB cable to connect your smartphone to the remote control via the USB port on the bottom of the controller, but this may cause more discomfort during operation. Various cables are included with the drone to make it more convenient and fit better.

Where can I find the Mavic Air Wi-Fi name and password?

For security reasons, each Mavic Air device has a unique Wi-Fi name and password. They are listed on the side of the drone body, in the battery compartment and on the case (iOS version 9.0 or later is required). Connect your smartphone to the drone's Wi-Fi by scanning the QR code with the DJI GO 4 app for first-time use. Alternatively, you can manually enter the Wi-Fi name and password.

How do I change my Mavic Air Wi-Fi name and password?

First, connect your smartphone to the drone via Wi-Fi. Then enter the DJI GO 4 app and go to Wi-Fi Settings to change the Wi-Fi name and password. You can also change your Wi-Fi name and password using DJI Assistant 2 on your computer.

Can you connect to the Mavic Air Wi-Fi using a third-party app to scan the QR code?

Not. You can scan the QR code to connect to the drone, just through the DJI GO 4 app.

It is not necessary.

What panorama modes it supports Mavic Air?

Mavic Air supports the following panorama modes:

Vertical: The camera automatically takes three vertical photos, combining them into one panorama.

Horizontal: The camera will take nine photos from different angles, combining them into one panorama.

180 °: The Mavic Air automatically rotates, taking 21 photos, combining them in the DJI GO 4 for a breathtaking 180 ° panorama.

Sphere: the Mavic Air automatically rotates to take 25 photos, combining them together for an eye-catching spherical panorama.

When the flying Mavic Air is close to me in SmartCapture mode, why does the drone stay at eye level?

SmartCapture allows the Mavic Air to fly only at eye level when it is 9.8 feet (3 meters) or less from you. This is to ensure better flight safety and control precision. You can gesture to fly higher or lower when it is further away from you.

Can Mavic Air charger be used to charge drone and controller simultaneously?

Yes.

What the Power Bank Adaptor is used for?

This is an adapter that will turn the Mavica Air's battery pack into a Powerbank. This allows us to charge our phone and other devices, such as on the go.

Turn on mavic Air drone in Wi-Fi mode, press the connect button and hold for 5 seconds.

What functions the power button performs?

Power button turns battery on and off. To do this, press it once and then press it again while holding it for at least two seconds to turn the battery on or off.

The power button also allows you to check the battery charge level. To do this, press the power button once and observe how many LEDs light up for the power level.

How long does it take to fully charge the battery?

It takes about 55 minutes to fully charge the battery when using a standard USB charger or charging hub.

How often should I recharge my batteries?

It is recommended to charge the batteries at least once every three months.

Can I use other apps while updating the DJI GO 4?

Not. If you do this, the update will fail. In this case, download the software and update again.

Why DJI GO 4 reminds me to reconnect to Mavic Air Wi-Fi just before restarting to complete the upgrade?

Before the update is complete, the drone will need to restart. Once you've done that, connect your mobile device to the Mavic Air Wi-Fi. DJI GO 4 just reminds you that you will need to do this for the update to be successful.

Can I disconnect from the Internet after successfully downloading a software update ?

Yes.

What should I do if the drone and battery software versions are inconsistent?

Connect the Mavic Air to the DJI GO 4 and the app will inform you of relevant updates to ensure consistency.

What factors can lead to the failure of the upgrade?

(a) Battery charge too low. Make sure the battery charge level is higher than 50%.

(b) Shutting down the Mavic Air or the remote control during updates. If this happens, restart the Mavic Air and the remote control and start the update again.

(c) Disconnecting the Internet while downloading software updates.

(d) If the update error persists or the remote control does not connect to the drone, there may be firmware inconsistencies between the devices. In this case, use DJI Assistant 2 on your computer to update your drone and remote control to the latest versions separately.

What is the resolution of the Mavic Air video transmission?

720p at 30 fps.

What is the video transmission delay of the Mavic Air?

The video transmission delay to the mobile device is between 170 and 240 ms. However, this is dependent on the performance of the mobile device and signal interference.

Can frequency bands be adjusted manually during video transmission?

The DJI GO 4 automatically selects the frequency band by default, but users can manually choose between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, according to actual needs.
