DJI drones under 600g - comparison
DJI Spark vs DJI Mavic Mini vs DJI Mavic Air
Below is a comparison table of DJI drone models under 600g in weight.
The order of the drones in the table is no coincidence, as they just DJI Mavic Mini ideally positioned between the DJI Spark and the DJI Mavic Air. In the drone enthusiast community, you may hear that the Mavic Mini is kind of like the Spark 2, but we can't agree, because there is too much difference between the two models. Post try to briefly describe the differences between them, compare to the Mavic Air and help you choose the right drone.
Mavic Mini - the little smart guy
If you choose a drone for personal use and don't want to worry about registration, the 249-g weight puts the Mavica Mini in the lowest and safest weight class of drones, which in many countries may exempt it from certain regulations, m.in. in the U.S., Canada or throughout the European Union from July 2020.
In terms of usage - one of the most important pieces of information is the runtime on a single battery. Here, too, the Mavic Mini is unrivaled. Despite the light weight, the operating time has been extended to 30 minutes compared to Spark and Mavic Air, which is a great surprise.
Significant differences - the camera
The matrix in these 3 models is exactly the same, the difference appears in the quality of the camera - unrivaled is the Mavic Air (4K/30fps quality), followed by the Mavic Mini (2.7K/30 fps) and the worst performer is the technologically oldest Spark (FHD/30 fps). Mavic Mini and Spark take photos in JPG formats, Mavic Air adds RAW format. On the Mavic Mini, the app allows us to select ISO sensitivity and shutter speed in photo mode, so we are able to select settings to make JPG photos look even better. The Mavic Air and Mavic Mini boast a 3-axis gimbal, while stabilization in the Spark rests on a 2-axis gimbal.
Availability of drones
The DJI Spark in our comparison is placed as a benchmark because this model is no longer manufactured and sold. Mavic Mini is considered by many drone experts as the successor of just Spark, the price comparable, but the parameters much better in favor of the latest DJI model. On sale, the Mavic Air currently comes only in a kit Fly More Combo priced at PLN 3,999.00. Also available is the so-called 'refurbished' version - these are drones refurbished by DJI, bearing no signs of use. They come with a full manufacturer's warranty, with the option to purchase additional DJI Care insurance, and are priced lower than a new drone. The refurbished version will buy the Mavic Air both baseline, as well as extended combo.
When choosing a drone, we need to pay attention to what purpose it will be used for and what budget we have. If we need a drone just for personal use, to take it on vacation, on a trip or to capture everyday moments, and we are limited by our budget, then a novelty drone is the perfect choice DJI Mavic Mini at the basic price of PLN 1,799.00 or in the version Fly More Combo pLN 2,249.00, the set of which includes, m.in additional batteries, propellers, 2-in-1 charging hub, propeller guard 360°, shipping case.
