Autel EVO II - questions and answers

Do I need to register my drone with Autel?

You don't need to register your drone, although we strongly recommend creating an account through the Explorer app to back up your flight logs to the cloud. Drone registration can also help in the unfortunate circumstance of a lost or stolen drone.

How much does the EVO II Dual cost? How/where can I buy?

EVO II dual is a powerful tool that combines a remarkable 8k visual sensor with FLIR's state-of-the-art thermal sensor. Due to the nature of this technology, sales of this model are regulated, so we offer this model only by inquiry, both directly and through authorized partners. For more information or to submit a purchase inquiry, send an email to shop@megadron.en

Why EVO 6K is more expensive than 8K?

While both the EVO II (8k) and EVO II Pro (6k) boast Sony's best image sensors, the EVO II Pro has a 1-inch sensor and an aperture adjustable from f / 2.8 to f / 11. This larger sensor provides more than four times the light gathering area and, combined with an adjustable aperture, allows discerning photographers to take advantage of a wider range of shooting conditions.

My EVO II displays a sensor error message, what does this mean?

An invalid sensor message indicates that your drone requires recalibration of one or more obstacle avoidance sensors. To recalibrate the sensors, download the calibration tool (link https://auteldrones.com/pages/evo-ii-oa-calibration-tool ) and follow the instructions on this page to complete the obstacle avoidance calibration.

Why my batteries run out when I don't use them?

Autel Robotics' specially designed intelligent lithium-polymer batteries have high energy density and capacity, so to ensure safe storage, the batteries have a self-discharge function during storage. If the battery is stored in a high-temperature environment or is idle for 6 days with a high charge level, self-discharge protection is activated. The battery will automatically discharge to a safe level. This is the default setting, and the discharge process takes 2-3 days. Although there is no indication that the battery is performing a self-discharge cycle, you may notice a slight warming of the battery, which is normal. The discharge threshold can be adjusted using the Autel Explorer application.

How should I store and maintain batteries?

During storage, as during flight, it is important not to let the battery come into close contact with moisture or heat sources. Store the batteries in a dry and ventilated place at room temperature (preferably 22 ° C to 28 ° C) and be sure to subject them to a charging cycle (charging to 100% and then discharging to 7% or less) at least once every three months (90 days) ).
LiPo batteries provide a higher discharge rate at a lower weight than other battery types, allowing our drones to fly faster and longer. The trade-off is that LiPo batteries require special charging and storage procedures and have a shorter lifespan than other battery types.

What are the battery specifications of the EVO II?

  • Capacity - 7100 mAh
  • Voltage - 11.55 V.
  • Maximum charging voltage - 13.2 V.
  • Battery type - LiPo 3S
  • Energy - 82Wh
  • Net weight - 365g
  • Charging temperature range - 5 ° C to 40 ° C
  • Maximum charging power - 82 Wh

It seems that the gimbal is tilted in my images / video, how to fix it?

A tilted image in drone photography is generally referred to as a tilted horizon. The first step to remove the horizon tilt is to turn the drone on as flat a surface as possible. Also remember that the gimbal is designed to be level in flight, so if you see a problem before takeoff, put the drone in a safe hover. In most cases, the gimbal will align itself.
If there is still a slight skewing of the horizon, this can be corrected using the settings menu in Explorer. In the camera view, tap the cogwheel icon in the upper right corner and select Gimbal. Select the "Start" button of the gimbal adjustment on the right side.
For a more significant or recurring horizon tilt problem, select one option lower in the Gimbal Settings menu, Automatic Gimbal Calibration, and then follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the gimbal. For more information on this process, check out our support videos for

Where is the micro SD card in my EVO II?

The mico SD card is behind the flap on the left side of the EVO II (there is a USB-C port on the right side of the EVO II).
To access the micro SD card, hold the drone back-to-back and spread the arms on the appropriate side of the drone. Then use your finger or a coin to open the flap under the ventilation hole. Lightly press the micro SD card to eject it (you will hear a quiet click), and then remove it from the slot.
To replace the micro SD card, insert it back into the slot and press gently until you hear a click, then close the flap.

What MicroSD cards can I use with my EVO II?

EVO uses MicroSD cards. EVO supports MicroSD cards up to 256 GB in capacity. We recommend the following minimum card speeds:
1080p HD video or lower: UHS-I U1 or V10 card
4k video: UHS-I U3 or V30
6k 8k video: V60 or V90
Our recommended card is the Lexar V60 https://megadron.en/en/search.html?text=lexar
