New POD system designed by Dronavia has been integrated into all Kronos parachute systems. This way, after using the parachute, you simply unscrew the old POD and screw on the new one. This simplified, self-contained arming process means that BSP pilots can safely take off again in just a few minutes, without compromising its air missions.

In order to reduce activation time and increase the chance of avoiding an accident or failure, the Kronos parachute system is equipped with a autonomous triggering technology. It is this module that is responsible for parachute deployment in less than 0.27 seconds, while it takes an average of 3 seconds for a pilot to carry out this action. SOFT AND CONTROLLED LANDING

New PARA shields used in Kronos parachute systems are the result of 3 years of research. Their innovative ultra-lightweight design and unique construction provide exceptional efficiency and stability. The rate of descent is reduced depending on the area of the cover. Each Kronos parachute is designed with guards to keep the drone as horizontal as possible during descent, which serves to minimize potential impact damage.

COMPATIBILITY WITH EASA POWER M2

EASA has published new proposed compliance measures for drone-mounted systems to reduce the force of impact on the ground in the event of a crash. The document is aimed at drone operators who are considering equipping a drone with a parachute or demonstrating that the drone has a feature that reduces its impact energy in the event of a crash or failure. The document is also intended for drone manufacturers and manufacturers of mitigation systems (parachute recovery systems).

MOC Mz determines the level of resilience required for the safety system in case the drone loses control and falls to the ground. Depending on the level of resilience, the value of the adjustment can reduce or increase the GRC. The more effective the measures, the higher the correction value and the lower the GRC. If the final GRC is higher than 7, it is not possible to apply for SORA.

The ground risk class (GRC) assessment is covered in steps 2 and 3 of the SORA procedure. The first step involves the definition of the inherent GRC, which is the initial level of ground risk, while the second involves mitigation measures that can be applied to reduce the risk and achieve the final GRC.

PATENTED CO2 TRIGGERING DEVICE

Numerous tests and subsequent improvements have brought this system to a level of reliability never before achieved in drone parachutes. Gas under pressure (60 bar!) is released in a fraction of a second to push the parachute canopy out of the container. Excess gas released from the cartridge (each cartridge contains dozens of liters) is used to accelerate the deployment of the parachute, minimizing the loss of altitude. With the KronosM350 system, the descent speed for a 7kg mass is only 3.56 m/s, which corresponds to an impact energy of just 44 joules, compared to 2,747 joules without a parachute.

SECURE LONG-RANGE TRANSMISSION FOR MANUAL TRIGGERING

The long-range communication system between the Klick remote trigger and the parachute/FTS is based on advanced technology and LoRa modulation. Its range can reach several kilometers under optimal conditions, and the long-range option allows it to exceed up to 10 kilometers.

The communication protocol is based on 869 MHz frequencies, which are authorization-free (433 and 915 MHz options available). 128-bit encryption ensures that data will not be intercepted, and the user will be warned if communication is disrupted.

POD SYSTEM

Resetting the Kronos parachute takes just a few minutes. All you need to do is replace the used POD with a new one, and then perform some simple maintenance yourself, as explained and detailed in the parachute manual.

The CO2 cartridge is the only consumable that needs to be replaced once the system is up and running, costing just a few euros. You can buy a new POD or replace it at a special price.

BLACK BOX FOR FLIGHT ANALYSIS

The system that records the operations performed over time has been built into the Kronos M350 parachute. Activities carried out by the user are recorded for diagnostic purposes. Records of operations can be analyzed by Dronavia and sent on demand.

The validity of the parachute is 1 year. After this time, review. The cost of the exchange is €50.
