Multi-purpose educational mat for use with Abilix Krypton educational robots

created by the "Masters of Programming" group

 

1. SUMO mat

Diameter of the battlefield - 80cm. White border.

The fight involves pushing robots with similar parameters (number of engines / Weight / structural elements used, etc.) off the mat while the winning robot remains on it.

2. Move within the designated area

Can be used with Krypton series robots with a color or grayscale sensor directed at the mat.

 

The robot moves inside the black field in a programmed manner. When the sensor detects the boundary line, the robot stops, retreats, turns and continues to move within the designated area.

 

3. Find items and remove them from the designated area.

The robot moves inside the black field until it finds the item it is looking for. When an item is found, it is taken outside the area while remaining in the designated field.

 

4. Travel a certain distance

5. Move the object to the designated field

Extension of lessons 2.1, 2.2.

Use the Krypton series robot to move an object in a straight line from the selected place on the line to the marked box

Distance measured from the obstacle - up to 30 cm

The object detected by the robot should be placed in the square function field.

Possibility of use with Abilix Krypton robots using independent motors for rotation, using encoders to measure motor rotation, or supported by a gyroscopic sensor. Used in programming the robot's rotation by a given angle to the right/left.

 

13. Determining the directions N, S, W, E

Can be used with Krypton 4, 6, 8 robots with a built-in compass.

For use in programming rotation in a specific direction, depending on the position of the mat in relation to the geographical location.

 

14. Travel using a rotation through a given angle.

Lesson extension:

Route length - 50cm.

For use with programs such as "Go forward, turn e.g. 120 degrees to the left, drive forward 20 cm, stop"

 

15. Tug of war

Lesson extension:

2.2 Motor control. Robot movement in a straight line

The robots are placed approximately 10 cm apart. Behind the side black lines. The center of the rope (defined by the marker) is on the center line. On a signal, the robots pull the rope towards themselves.

 

The robot that first moves the center of the rope marker beyond the black line in its field wins.
