New! Revolutionary V-Coptr Falcon drone - 50 minutes of non-stop flight!
2020-01-20
Recently, the drone world has been swirling with the lightweight DJI Mavic Mini, which is already the most popular drone for amateur use thanks to its size. However, there is still no information about a successor to the higher models Mavica Air, and above all the series Mavic 2.
Something tells us that DJI will have to pick up the pace and grace the drone community with a release later this year. Reason? After all, it's safe to say - 'Competition doesn't sleep!'. Here is the proof in the form of an unconventional BSP solution - a V-shaped drone manufactured by Zero Zero Robotics.
V-Coptr Falcon drone - V for Victory?
The intriguing machine was inspired by the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey military aircraft, the so-called "vertical-aircraft", which had the advantage and feature of vertical takeoff and landing. The change of perspective from horizontal to vertical is not just a cosmetic and visual procedure. Unlike standard quadrotors (the most common form of drones on the market), Falcon's V-Coptr engines are located on the upper, protruding part of the drone's body, forming a V. And since V is two arms, so and only two engines.
The benefit of replacing four engines with two, and a more aerodynamic design, allows to significantly reduce energy consumption during the drone's flight - the traditional design of the drone forces it to tilt in the direction of flight, and thus the drag surface increases.
By force, two motors draw less power than four, and on top of that, Falcon's V-Coptr battery has a capacity of as much as 4,500 mAh.
The result of the above is an impressive flight time - the V-Coptr flies for up to 50 minutes!
As for the issue of the drone's range, here the manufacturer surprises again. According to claims, the V-Coptr Falcon is expected to fly up to 7 km! However, nowhere can we find information on whether this figure applies to FCC mode or CE mode as well. If this result is achievable in our European CE - chapeau bas.
Included, of course, is a controller and a set of basic accessories.

V-Coptr Falcon - parameters
In addition to a design unprecedented among drones, the bikopter has a built-in 1/2.3-inch Sony 12 MP camera on a standard 3-axis gimbal. Moreover, the manufacturer assures that the profile of the propellers and their slower rotation provide lift with higher efficiency and less noise. All this makes it impossible not to compare it to the already well-known DJI drone - Mavica Pro Platnium. As for the issue of the drone's range, here the manufacturer surprises again. Bikopter price and availability
The drone can be pre-ordered now at manufacturer's website priced at $999 which is ok. 3800 zł. The first units are expected to arrive at customers as early as February 2020.Included, of course, is a controller and a set of basic accessories.
V-Coptr Falcon - with our eye
Given its record-breaking flight time for the consumer market, we think the V-Coptr has a chance to compete with some DJI models. There are opinions circulating that because of the drones' standard 1/2.3-inch 12 MP camera, however, for the Mavic 2 series, let alone its potential successor, they should not be much competition. Bigger maybe not, but some for sure - after all, the difference in price is significant, and not every user needs a 1-inch camera or 4x lossless zoom, for which we will pay 6299 PLN respectively (Mavic 2 Pro basic version) or PLN 5099 (Mavic 2 Zoom).
