Comparison of stabilizers DJI RS 4 vs DJI RS 5

Ronin series has been expanded with a new stabilizer model. DJI RS 5 had today (29.01.2026.) premiere and it has to be said that it introduces changes that definitely increase the convenience of working with the device. As standard, the gimbal continues the high level set by its predecessor, while adding improvements that positively affect the comfort of use. See our prepared post, in which we list the most important changes and compare device specifications.
DJI RS 4 or DJI RS 5?

At the outset, it is worth noting that both devices are worth recommending. The quality of the materials used can be felt immediately, which translates into a very pleasant work with the device. The stabilization works very predictably and there are no problems with the intuitiveness of gimbal operation. At this point, it is worth noting that the first and most important task that depends on us is to properly balance the device. The more carefully we do this, the more the gimbal will repay us with proper operation.
What are the changes then? In the new model DJI RS 5 there is, above all, much faster charging, if someone uses the equipment intensively then they will be satisfied. In addition, the torque of the engines is 50% higher than in the previous model, which will certainly affect the longer serviceability of the gimbal.
Both gimbals have similar weight and lifting capacity and bluetooth compatibility with cameras. DJI RS 5 got an additional 2 brands: Fujifilm and Panasonic. The briefcase holder on the new model has the option to control it from the panel directly on it and the tracking module has received additional smart features.
If you are recording vertically, choosing a new model may be key, as this time you just need to reposition the plate without having to rebalance it.
Note on Combo Sets DJI RS 5 vs RS 4

For DJI combo kits don't usually change with the release of new models. Here, however, it is worth paying attention, because the sets differ in accessories, and significantly so. W rS 4, the combo kit is equipped with an accessory targeting the Focus Motor, which is responsible for the lens' ability to focus.
The kit, on the other hand DJI RS 5 Combo, has a new Briefcase Handle with control panel and Improved RS Intelligent Tracking Module, so this is definitely a set for people who care about tracking objects.
