The UNITREE G1 Basic is a next-generation humanoid robot built for robotics enthusiasts, research teams, developers, and technology showcases. Designed for motion research, control systems, 3D perception, and human-machine interaction, it combines compact dimensions with seriously impressive mobility. Standing approximately 132 cm tall and weighing around 35 kg, this agile humanoid delivers smooth, dynamic movement thanks to its 23 degrees of freedom and top speed of up to 2 m/s. It can dance, jump, run, and respond to its surroundings in real time, making it a standout platform for experimentation, demos, and advanced robotics projects.
One of the biggest strengths of the G1 Basic is its remarkable freedom of movement, going far beyond what you would expect from conventional industrial machines. This humanoid can run, jump, climb stairs, perform dynamic movements inspired by dance and martial arts, and shift positions instantly while maintaining balance. With 23 degrees of freedom and a wide range of joint motion, the robot moves in a fluid, natural, and highly coordinated way. That makes it an exciting choice for tests, presentations, and research projects where realistic dynamics and precise motion control really matter.

The UNITREE G1 Basic is designed to stay balanced not only on smooth indoor floors, but also on more demanding terrain. Each leg features 6 degrees of freedom, allowing precise weight transfer and fast adaptation to changing ground conditions. The structure supports smooth movement over uneven surfaces such as stones, helping the robot maintain stability, direction, and control. This makes it a practical platform for both indoor and outdoor demonstrations of humanoid mobility.

The robot’s motion system is based on low-inertia internal-rotor PMSM motors, engineered for fast response and stable torque control. A maximum knee joint torque of 90 N·m enables dynamic actions such as squats, jumps, and rapid body-position changes. Each arm offers 5 degrees of freedom and a payload capacity of approximately 2 kg, making object handling and gesture-based interaction much more versatile. Industrial cross-roller bearings and dual joint encoders further enhance accuracy, reliability, and repeatable movement.

The G1 Basic uses a combination of an Intel RealSense D435i depth camera and a Livox MID-360 3D LiDAR sensor to capture detailed spatial information about its environment. This setup provides broad environmental awareness and high-precision data for autonomous navigation and motion planning. As a result, the robot can detect obstacles, interpret changes in its surroundings, and perform tasks that require real spatial awareness.

Voice communication is handled by an advanced audio system designed for intuitive human-robot interaction. Four microphones with active noise reduction and echo cancellation help capture voice commands even in acoustically challenging environments, while the built-in 5 W stereo speaker delivers clear audio feedback. This makes the G1 Basic feel like more than just a machine—it becomes an interactive participant in the human-machine dialogue.

The G1 Basic is more than a robot that simply repeats programmed movement sequences. It is designed as a platform ready for artificial intelligence applications, supporting both imitation learning and reinforcement learning. This allows it to develop capabilities based on observation and experience. Combined with UnifoLM, Unitree’s large-scale model concept, the robot becomes a physical carrier for AI operating directly in real-world environments. It is a strong foundation for next-generation intelligent robots and autonomous assistants.

The intelligent 9000 mAh battery is built for intensive, dynamic operation. A single charge provides up to approximately 2 hours of runtime, giving you plenty of time for testing, showcasing, or development work. The quick-release battery design also makes replacement fast and convenient, helping minimize downtime between sessions.

The robot’s design supports not only operation, but also transport and storage. When folded, the UNITREE G1 Basic measures just 690 × 450 × 300 mm, making it much easier to move between workstations, labs, and demo spaces, while also simplifying safe storage when not in use.
