The UNITREE A2 Pro is a high-performance quadruped robot built for demanding field tasks, advanced robotics projects, and ambitious hobbyist applications. It combines rugged construction, precise environmental awareness, and strong onboard computing power in one agile platform. Weighing approximately 37 kg with batteries, the A2 Pro can reach speeds of up to 5 m/s, carry payloads of up to 25 kg while moving, and support static loads of up to 100 kg.

The A2 Pro is designed for terrain where conventional mobile systems quickly lose effectiveness. It can handle steps up to 30 cm high and slopes of up to 45°, making it a great fit for stairs, rubble, embankments, and uneven rocky ground. Advanced control algorithms help maintain stability and smooth movement, even during sudden maneuvers, so the robot stays confident in challenging environments.

The robot uses a set of 12 high-performance PMSM motors with low-inertia rotors for fast response and accurate motion control. Industrial-grade cross roller bearings in the joints improve durability and precision under long-term load. With joint torque reaching approximately 180 N·m, the A2 Pro stays smooth and controlled even when carrying heavier cargo. Its aluminum alloy body and durable engineering plastics help protect critical components in tough operating conditions.

UNITREE A2 Pro works as a mobile transport platform for tools, measuring equipment, rescue gear, and other mission-critical cargo. While walking, it can carry loads of up to 25 kg. When stationary, its structure can withstand loads of up to 100 kg. That makes it a practical choice for moving equipment into places that are hard to reach with wheeled machines.

The Pro version is equipped with an expanded navigation system made for complex and changing environments. In addition to an HD camera, the robot uses two LiDAR sensors to widen its field of view and reduce blind spots. This sensor setup enables more precise environmental perception and safer movement in dynamic surroundings. Integrated front lighting also improves visibility during low-light tasks, such as night inspections or indoor industrial work.

The A2 Pro uses a dual-battery system with two 9000 mAh batteries. In real-world terms, that means up to around 5 hours of operation and a range of about 20 km without payload. When transporting a 25 kg load, runtime is approximately 3 hours with a range of up to 12.5 km. Thanks to the hot-swap battery design, batteries can be replaced without interrupting operation, which is especially useful during longer field missions. The power system is also designed to work in temperatures from -20°C to 55°C.

The standard configuration includes an 8-core processor for system functions and an Intel Core i7 for user applications. For more demanding deployments, an optional high-performance compute module can be added. The robot also offers a wide range of communication interfaces, including RS485, CAN, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB-C. OTA update support makes ongoing software development easier, while the Pro version also supports GPS, 4G, and wireless motion tracking modules.

The UNITREE A2 Pro features a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way voice communication. This allows real-time warning messages and audio instructions to be delivered directly in the field, improving safety and making coordination easier during operation.

With its robust mobility, advanced perception system, and open architecture, the A2 Pro is a strong choice for infrastructure inspection, field logistics, industrial patrols, research, R&D projects, and rescue support scenarios. If you are looking for a powerful quadruped robot platform that can be adapted to specialized tasks, the UNITREE A2 Pro is ready to deliver.
