Flight Controller V5 BLHeli_S (ICM42688) F405 4S 20A

Based on the F405 2-4S 20A Brushless Flight Controller V4, the F405 4S 20A Toothpick Brushless Flight Controller V5 uses a new ICM42688 gyroscope and ESC chip that comes with BLUEJAY ESC firmware to support bidirectional D-shot. In addition to plug&play ports for the receiver and HD Digitial VTX, such as the V4 board, the V5 board was made with a rational layout for easy soldering and to prevent the solder from jumping to another pad and short-circuiting components.

Features

• The flight controller board was not only made in a rational layout, but was also designed with larger solder fields. Pilots can solder external electronics very easily.
• The flight controller is able to handle a continuous current of 20 A and achieve a peak current of 25 A thanks to the use of high-quality MOSFET transistors.
• Soldering the motor leads directly to the pad allows for lower resistance at higher currents in motors. In addition, the solder pads are reinforced with thick copper and an edge plating process to ensure solid value and durable use.
• Reserving the layout of the UART ports, UART3 for RX, UART4 for HD Digital VTX, UART6 for Analog VTX and UART1 for backup use, pilots are easier to solder.
• The board features a 25.5 x 25.5 mm Whoop mounting pattern. It can be added to the frame of the Cinematic Whoop quadrocopter. Pavo25 and Knight X 35.

Note: F405 4S 20A FC V5 is available to flash both BLHeli_S and BLUEJAY ESC firmware. It comes with the default BLUEJAY firmware. The main difference is that the BLUEJAY firmware supports bidirectional D-shot, while BLHeli_S does not.

Comparison with F405 2-4S 20A V4 FC

We have updated the F405 2-4S 20A V4 (to V5), adopting the ICM42688 gyroscope instead of the MPU6000 and adding several new features. ICM42688 gyroscope works great in most cases. In addition to the gyroscope, the V5 board is equipped with all-new ESC firmware that supports bidirectional D-shot. The way the motors are connected has been changed and is only solderable on the V5 board. Besides, the V5 FC board features high-quality material for stability and durability. The following pictures show the difference between the two flight controllers.

Default firmware includes CLI dump file. But if you flash the firmware from the official Betaflight configurator site, flash the CLI dump file for F405 4S 20A FC V5. We offer downloadable default firmware and CLI dump file.
