UNITREE A2-W Pro four-legged robot

UNITREE A2-W Pro Quadruped Robot
The UNITREE A2-W Pro is an advanced wheeled-quadruped robot built for demanding terrain, mobile transport, and ambitious robotics projects. Weighing around 37 kg with batteries installed, it combines high power, dynamic movement, and impressive adaptability. Thanks to its wheeled-foot design, the A2-W Pro can move efficiently over longer distances while still handling obstacles that would stop many conventional mobile platforms.

Built for terrain where other platforms struggle
The A2-W Pro is designed to operate in complex environments where standard mobile robots may fall short. It can continuously climb stairs up to 28 cm, overcome single obstacles up to 90 cm, and handle slopes of up to 45°. Whether it is moving across stairs, rubble, uneven ground, or mixed surfaces, the robot maintains balance and control with smooth transitions between maneuvers and directions.

Upgraded drive system and robust mechanics
The robot’s mobility is powered by 12 low-inertia internal-rotor PMSM motors that deliver fast response even under heavy load. With torque reaching around 180 N·m, the A2-W Pro stays stable in dynamic operating scenarios. Industrial-grade cross roller bearings in the joints improve precision and durability, while the aluminum alloy structure and impact-resistant plastics help the robot stand up to challenging use.

Fast and capable mobile transport platform
The UNITREE A2-W Pro works great as a mobile base for carrying equipment, tools, or measuring devices in hard-to-reach or potentially hazardous areas. It can transport loads of approximately 20 to 25 kg while moving, and support up to 100 kg in a static position. The wheeled drive system improves transport efficiency over longer distances without giving up strong obstacle-crossing ability.

Enhanced environmental awareness
The A2-W Pro uses an advanced perception system built around an HD camera and dual LiDAR sensors. This setup provides a wide field of view, reduces blind spots, and improves navigation safety. It can map its surroundings more accurately and operate more reliably in dynamic spaces. Front lighting also helps the robot work after dark or in poorly lit areas such as warehouses, tunnels, and industrial sites.

Long runtime for extended field missions
The robot features a dual-battery system with two 9000 mAh batteries. With no load, it can operate for around 4 to 5 hours and cover up to 20 km. With a 25 kg load, runtime reaches about 2.5 to 3 hours and range is approximately 12.5 km. The hot-swappable battery design allows battery replacement without shutting the robot down, which is especially useful for longer continuous missions. The system is designed to work in temperatures from -20°C to 55°C.

Ready for expansion and development
The standard hardware configuration includes an 8-core processor for platform functions and an Intel Core i7 for user-side application development. A more powerful compute module is also available optionally. OTA updates make software improvements easier, while rich connectivity options such as RS485, CAN, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB-C ports simplify integration with additional hardware. The Pro version also supports GPS, 4G, and wireless tracking modules.

Real-time voice communication
A built-in microphone and speaker enable live voice communication and status announcements. This is a practical feature for improving operational awareness and signaling the robot’s presence in active workspaces.

Great for advanced robotics projects
The UNITREE A2-W Pro is a versatile robotic platform for inspections, logistics, patrol scenarios, research, and demanding outdoor applications. Its combination of mobility, perception, payload capacity, and computing power makes it a strong choice for users who want a serious hobby, development, or field robotics platform.
