Based on real pilot feedback from beta testing, the Pavo Pico frame has been improved with a lower-profile battery bay, added camera protection, and support for DJI O3 series filters. The result is a more stable, better-protected cinewhoop platform that helps deliver smooth HD footage and a confident feel in the air.

Pavo Pico Frame Kit

The HD VTX mounting bracket is made from ultra-lightweight PP material to keep overall weight low while improving durability. The antenna mounting slots are integrated into the frame to reduce the risk of damage during hard landings or crashes. The lowered camera mounting position, combined with a printed protective part, limits the tilt angle to 30° and helps create a more secure, low-profile layout.

For pilots looking for cleaner footage, the frame also supports an O3 filter, helping protect the lens while enhancing visual quality. Combined with the rubber-damped vibration isolation system and stabilization software such as GyroFlow, the Pavo Pico is built to deliver smooth, reliable HD video even when flying aggressively.

When installing screws, avoid over-tightening them. Leaving the dampers with a bit of freedom to move helps them absorb vibration more effectively and can reduce the risk of jello in recorded footage.

DJI O3 Vibration Solution

To address vibration issues common in many whoop-style drones, the DJI O3 unit is mounted on a carbon fiber plate with four rubber dampers. This clever design improves stability, helps minimize vibration transfer, and gives your HD system the support it needs for crisp, stable footage.

Troubleshooting Tips

• If the VTX mount is tightened too much, the rubber dampers may deform. Tighten the screw only until it touches the damper, while still leaving a small amount of free play.
• If the frame or propellers are heavily deformed, replace the damaged parts to reduce vibration and improve flight stability.

Upgraded Low-Profile Design

Pilots can further customize the frame using DIY solutions such as battery straps or printed parts, making it easier to fit different battery sizes and tune the setup to their preferred flying style.

Flight Controller Compatibility

The flight controller has been upgraded from the F4 1S 12A AIO FC V3 to the F4 2-3S 20A AIO FC V1. The newer version features an ESC with a 25A burst current, helping maintain stable performance even during demanding flight conditions or temporary motor stalls. It also adds a 9V 2A BEC for more reliable DJI O3 HD VTX operation when battery voltage drops.

The updated controller includes a 6-pin DJI O3 PMU connector for solder-free HD VTX installation, plus useful features such as 16 MB blackbox memory, GPS support, compatibility with external receivers, and easier installation thanks to the revised solder pad layout and relocated USB port.

Note: The second batch of FC boards started in August 2023. On the F4 2-3S 20A AIO FC V1, the SBUS receiver serial port is UART5, while on the F4 1S 12A AIO Brushless FC V3 it is UART6.

The USB port has also been extended to the end of the board for easier tuning, wiring, and maintenance. The new 6-pin DJI O3 PMU module makes installation quicker and more convenient.
