Board Overview
BetaFPV Matrix 1S Brushless Flight Controller (4IN1):

Ultra-Durable BEC
1S whoops often dip to very low voltage during aggressive flying, and that puts extra stress on the onboard power system. The Matrix 1S 4IN1 uses a newly developed BEC designed to provide stable output even in tough low-voltage situations, helping maintain reliable video transmission and overall system stability when it matters most.
Reinforced 12A ESC
Whether you are building a lightweight cruiser or a punchy analog freestyle whoop, dependable ESC performance is a must. This board features a robust 12A continuous / 18A peak ESC on a proven cross-style layout, delivering solid thrust handling, improved reliability, and smoother performance on 1S brushless builds.
Dedicated IMU Power
Unlike shared-power designs, the Matrix 1S FC uses an independent 3.3V LDO exclusively for the IMU. This helps reduce noise and interference, creating a cleaner operating environment for the gyro and improving precision, responsiveness, and overall flight consistency.
Whoop-Ready Installation
The 4IN1 version keeps dedicated solder pads for an external analog VTX, giving you more flexibility when choosing your video system and helping reduce voltage-related interference for a cleaner analog image.

Built-in ELRS 2.4GHz Serial Receiver
The onboard ELRS 2.4GHz serial receiver communicates with the flight controller using the CRSF protocol, giving you a clean wiring setup and modern radio link performance. It supports updates to ELRS V3.0 without requiring Betaflight firmware reflashing.
- To enter binding mode, power the flight controller on and off three times.
- Check that the RX LED is flashing quickly in a double-blink pattern to confirm bind mode.
- Put your RF TX module or radio transmitter into bind mode and send the bind pulse.
- A solid receiver light indicates successful binding.
The ELRS 2.4GHz serial receiver can be updated over Wi-Fi or through Betaflight serial passthrough.
- Connect the FC to your computer and use ExpressLRS Configurator instead of Betaflight Configurator.
- Select the target: BETAFPV 2.4GHz AIO RX.
- Flash the firmware using the Betaflight Passthrough option in ExpressLRS Configurator.
Betaflight Firmware and CLI
The Matrix 1S 4IN1 uses the following FC firmware:
- FC firmware: Betaflight_4.5.2_BETAFPVG473_V2
Important:
- Matrix 1S 3IN1 and 4IN1 use different firmware versions. Always verify your board version before flashing to avoid compatibility or performance issues.
Bluejay ESC Firmware
Thanks to the BB51 ESC solution, the Matrix 1S series supports Bluejay firmware with the file A_X_5_96_v0.19.2.hex. It supports DSHOT300, DSHOT600, RPM filtering in Betaflight, fixed PWM frequencies at 24KHz, 48KHz, and 96KHz, plus custom startup melodies.
Do not flash firmware repeatedly in short intervals, as this may risk freezing or damaging the flight controller.

Serial Ports, Built-in RX and VTX Usage
UART3 is connected to the built-in ELRS serial receiver. If you need to free UART3, the resistor must be removed. In addition, the Matrix 1S FC keeps two full serial ports available for external serial receivers, GPS, HD VTX systems, or other serial devices.
