Ultra-Durable BEC

1S whoops often fly at very low voltage, and digital video systems demand more current than traditional analog setups. To handle that, BetaFPV developed an upgraded BEC capable of delivering over 3A of current at ultra-low voltage down to 2.85V. That means more stable HD video power in critical moments and a better chance of keeping control when the battery is pushed hard.

Upgraded 12A ESC Performance

Whether you're building a lightweight digital whoop or chasing maximum 1S performance, the Matrix 1S needs an ESC that can keep up. Its upgraded 12A continuous / 18A peak ESC is built on a proven cross-layout platform to provide strong thrust handling, dependable efficiency, and smoother performance during aggressive flights.

Independent IMU Power Supply

Unlike traditional shared-power designs, the Matrix 1S FC uses a dedicated 3.3V LDO just for the IMU. This helps reduce electrical noise and creates a cleaner operating environment for the gyro, improving flight precision, responsiveness, and overall tuning consistency.

Whoop-Ready Installation

The 3-in-1 version is made for hassle-free digital whoop builds. With motor plugs and an SH1.0-6Pin digital HD port, installation and maintenance are quick and clean with minimal soldering. Spend less time on the bench and more time flying.

ELRS 2.4GHz Serial Receiver

The built-in ELRS 2.4GHz serial receiver communicates with the flight controller through the Crossfire serial protocol (CRSF), allowing support for ELRS V3.0 upgrades without flashing Betaflight firmware. To enter binding mode, power the board on and off three times.

• Plug in and disconnect the flight controller three times
• Make sure the RX LED shows a fast double blink, which means pairing mode is active
• Set your RF TX module or radio transmitter to bind mode and send the bind pulse
• A solid receiver light means binding is complete

The ELRS 2.4GHz serial receiver can be updated via Wi-Fi or Betaflight serial passthrough.

• Connect the FC to your computer and use ExpressLRS Configurator instead of Betaflight Configurator
• Select the target: BETAFPV 2.4GHz AIO RX
• Flash the firmware using the Betaflight Passthrough option in ExpressLRS Configurator

Betaflight Firmware and CLI

The Matrix 1S Brushless Flight Controller (3-in-1) uses the following FC firmware:

Important:

• Matrix 1S 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 use different firmware versions. Always confirm your board version before flashing to avoid performance issues.

Bluejay ESC Firmware

Thanks to the BB51 ESC solution, the Matrix 1S 3-in-1 HD uses the A_X_5_96_v0.19.2.hex firmware file for BB51 Bluejay ESC. It supports DSHOT300, DSHOT600, RPM filtering in Betaflight, fixed PWM frequencies of 24KHz, 48KHz, and 96KHz, plus custom startup tones.

Do not flash firmware repeatedly in short intervals, as this may cause the flight controller to freeze or become damaged.

Serial Ports, Built-In RX, and VTX Usage

UART3 is connected to the built-in ELRS serial receiver. If you want to free UART3 for another use, the resistor must be removed. In addition, the Matrix 1S FC keeps 2 full serial ports available for external serial receivers, GPS, HD VTX systems, or other serial devices.
