DJI's latest product, the Mavic Air 2

Today, April 28, at 03:30 PM (9:30 PM EDT), there was the launch of a new work of the already well-known worldwide brand DJI. Before the launch, there was much speculation as to what the leading drone manufacturer would present to us.

DJI is not slowing down and is showing the world its new product - it is a drone Mavic Air 2. For many who follow the company's activities, this came as no surprise, as on the Internet, fans of new technologies often typified this very candidate.
This is the successor to the first edition of this Mavic Air, which became known as a very compact drone for hobbyist as well as commercial use. The Air's success can be evidenced by its popularity and user reviews.

Each new DJI drone is highly anticipated by users, and this is due to the fact that the manufacturer has a lot of experience in this matter, the commercial drones of the Mavic and Phantom series have a lot of fans who expect new products with great enthusiasm. DJI proves with its devices that its technology is state-of-the-art, the speech also m.in about cameras and image stabilization devices (gimbals), which are also on offer from the brand.
DJI's latest creation was the Mavic Mini, a drone also in the commercial segment.

What surprises with the new DJI Mavic Air 2?

Mavic Air 2 is, like its predecessor, a compact, folding drone weighing 570g with impressive features. It is equipped with advanced technologies. OcuSync 2.0 image transmission technology allows flights of up to 6 km. This small drone has a high-resolution camera and a camera armed with smart recording modes. Below we will describe the various functions and parameters in more detail.

Professional camera allowing to record in 4k quality even at 60 frames per second. Flat d-Cinelike color mode enables recording more image data, while the HEVC codec (H.265) will take care of the full range of dynamic. HDR recordings, on the other hand, are supported by a state-of-the-art Quad Bayer sensor thanks to which m.in. light and dark details are better preserved during filming.

Camera - The Mavic Air 2 is equipped with a 1/2 inch CMOS sensor Sony IMX586. Technology used SmartPhoto combines HyperLight mode, HDR mode, and environmental recognition. Recognizing the environment selects individual camera parameters in 5 categories: grass, trees, snow, sky and sunrise.
Allows you to take pictures at 48 Mpix.

Features and QuickShots

In addition to options such as making hDR panoramas with vivid colors and high dynamic range, and Hyperlapse at 8k resolution, the new drone has also been armed with Quickshots well known to DJI drone users.

Automatic modes QuickShots allow you to capture professional film footage very easily without much piloting skill. Mavic Air 2 will plan and execute an intricate flight path for you to record shots, it will also let you directly share the footage on social media. We also have options to add multiple effects and filters, and even music with simple templates.

Creating cinematic frames enables FocusTrack. This suite of intelligent modes consists of:
  • Active Track 3.0 - tracking the selected target while automatically avoiding obstacles all the time keeping the subject in the center of the frame.
  • Spotlight 2.0 allows you to freely control the drone while the camera keeps your designated object in frame.
  • Point of Interest 3.0 perfectly tracks moving objects, which is ideal for recording vehicles, boats or moving people.

OcuSync 2.0

The Mavic Air 2 uses OcuSync 2.0 image transfer technology, streaming live video from the camera in 1080p at distances of up to 6 km. The Mavic Air 2 uses 2.4/5.8GHz frequencies switching between them in real time, automatically selecting channels with the least amount of interference, which affects flight safety by taking care of the quality of the connection.

Smart sensors

Mavir Air 2 is equipped with sensors that detect obstacles by scanning the environment in 3 directions: front, back and bottom. This is a very useful feature that increases safety during flight, especially in conditions where we may encounter many obstacles on the flight path.

Battery and speed

Rechargeable battery allows you to stay in the air for up to 34 minutes. This small drone can travel at a maximum flight speed of 68 km / h in Sport mode, a truly impressive result.

New apparatus and mounts

Newly designed apparatus with an eye to enhancing grip comfort. Its ergonomic shape is said to provide a more comfortable grip, while the new clamp makes mounting smartphones quick and easy. The operating time is also impressively long, at 240 minutes
