On November 13, 2025, the DJI Neo 2 was released—introducing a number of changes compared to the previous model. Both drones are designed to make recording as easy and fast as possible and to minimize the size of the equipment. In this comparison, we'll take a look at how these two models differ and answer the question of whether it's worth upgrading from the previous version?

Does the DJI Neo 2 have better picture quality than the DJI Neo??

A two-axis gimbal provides much better image stabilization than a single-axis system, so it produces far fewer vibrations and unwanted jolts, and as a result the image is much smoother. The additional 30 frames per second when recording 4K video and the aperture that produces a brighter image are definitely a plus.

The image quality may not be a huge leap forward with a "Wow!" factor, but it is noticeably smoother, and that usually stands out.

DJI Neo 2 vs. DJI Neo: A Comparison of Drone Designs

At first glance, both drones have a very similar design. What sets the DJI Neo 2 apart is located on the front of the drone, and it is: a LiDAR sensor, which enables advanced obstacle detection and avoidance, and a screen displaying the drone’s currently selected operating mode. In addition, the drone has an omnidirectional sensor on the back, which was missing from the previous model. These changes result in significantly more advanced operation of all autonomous modes.

DJI The Neo measures 130×157×48.5 mm, while the Neo 2 measur DJI; the Neo 2 weighs DJI —it is 16 g heavier, which translates to more stable performance in the wind.

Range, Flight Time, and Charging

Both drones have very similar specifications in terms of range, flight time, and charging time. The range varies between 1.5 km in the city, when using the controller. When controlling the drone via a phone— DJI, the Neo 2 has a noticeably more stable connection. The flight time of both drones is similar; the DJI Neo 2 has a flight time of 19 minutes, which is 1 minute longer.. It's worth noting here that this is being tested under laboratory conditions and that the actual flight time is usually around 15 minutes. The most noticeable difference is in the latter—namely, charging time—since the DJI Neo 2, when used with a 65 W charger, charges about 8 to 20 minutes faster, depending on whether you’re charging it in the hub or in the drone..

It’s worth noting here that DJI has put together a bundle that hasn’t been available before, namely DJI the Neo 2 Fly More Combo (drone only) for 1,529 PLN (including tax). The set includes a drone, 3 batteries, and a charging hub. This kit does not include a controller and is ideal for those who will use the drone’s automatic functions and do not need to fly it further.

Summary

DJI It introduced some very good improvements to the Neo 2, enhancing nearly every aspect of the previous model. The drone has become a much more advanced model; it features sensors and LiDAR, improved gimbal stabilization, and enhanced flight stability.. Flying this drone will not only be more stable and reliable, but will also ultimately yield better results in terms of video and image quality.

DJI Neo is still a good choice. This isn't a device that's packed with technology and the latest innovations. On the other hand, it’s a very decent unit—not complicated—that still offers good value for the price.

If we're sure that a drone will be useful to us and that we'll actually use it, then it's clearly worth choosing the DJI Neo 2. On the other hand, if we're going to get one—and we're not sure yet—the DJI Neo is more than enough to get us started.
