Natural, expressive movement dynamics
The G1 Edu U2 takes the motion capabilities of the Basic version even further, offering more realistic, smoother, and more expressive mobility. The robot can run, jump, climb stairs, dance, and perform martial arts-inspired motion sequences while maintaining balance and switching positions efficiently. With a higher number of degrees of freedom, it can link movements more naturally and execute complex routines with greater freedom, making it an excellent choice for both R&D work and impressive public demonstrations.

Even better stability
The EDU U2 version features as many as three degrees of freedom in the waist, enabling more natural torso movement and more precise balance control while walking, running, and making sudden direction changes. Each leg offers six degrees of freedom, helping the robot shift body weight smoothly and move steadily even on uneven surfaces such as rocks. As a result, the robot remains highly stable both indoors and in more demanding environments.

Greater arm freedom for advanced tasks
The G1 Edu U2 variant offers seven degrees of freedom in the arms, opening the door to much more advanced maneuvers. The robot can easily reach for objects located close to obstacles and operate precisely in confined spaces. Combined with efficient PMSM motors, industrial cross-roller bearings, and dual joint encoders, the design provides high precision, repeatability, and reliable motion control. These features are especially valuable for research and development involving advanced robotic arm systems.

Expanded hand manipulation capabilities
The Unitree G1 Edu U2 can be equipped with the advanced Dex3-1 three-finger manipulator hand. This design provides seven degrees of freedom, including independent control of the thumb, index finger, and middle finger for secure gripping and precise object manipulation. Thanks to hybrid force and position control, the robot can work safely with different objects while maintaining high movement accuracy. Once equipped with the hand, the G1 Edu U2 can use tools such as a hammer, move small items, and handle a variety of dexterous manipulation tasks.

Advanced 3D spatial perception
The robot uses an advanced perception system that combines an Intel RealSense D435i depth camera with a Livox MID-360 3D LiDAR sensor. This sensor set provides precise data for autonomous navigation, detailed environment analysis, and motion trajectory planning. Thanks to this, the UNITREE G1 Edu U2 can effectively detect and avoid obstacles while moving efficiently through complex spaces, making it a strong platform for research into humanoid robot perception and spatial awareness.

Natural voice interaction
With its advanced audio system, including a 5 W stereo speaker and a four-microphone array with noise reduction and echo cancellation, the robot can recognize voice commands effectively even in challenging acoustic environments. It can also play back audio messages clearly, making interaction feel natural and intuitive. This makes the G1 Edu U2 a great participant in shows, educational activities, and interactive experiments.

Humanoid AI platform
The G1 Edu U2 educational robot is much more than a machine that simply performs pre-programmed motion sequences. It was designed as an open platform for working with artificial intelligence algorithms in real-world environments. It supports imitation learning and reinforcement learning, allowing it to develop new skills based on observation and experience. The platform is further enhanced by the proprietary UnifoLM model, enabling AI-driven performance across a wide range of tasks and scenarios. This makes the G1 Edu U2 an excellent platform for humanoid AI research and a promising intelligent assistant for advanced projects.

Longer runtime and easy mobility
The smart 9000 mAh battery provides up to approximately 2 hours of operation on a single charge, giving you plenty of time to test features, run experiments, or prepare for a presentation. This setup works especially well in educational and research environments where intensive use matters. The fast battery swap system helps minimize downtime, so you can quickly continue classes, demos, or development work. Just as importantly, the EDU U2 can be folded down to a compact size of 69 × 45 × 30 cm, making transport and storage much easier between labs, classrooms, and workstations.
