Lightweight and Durable Construction for FPV Drones
The BETAFPV Pavo Femto Brushless Whoop Frame is a compact drone frame designed for FPV builds equipped with the DJI O4 Air Unit digital video transmission system. Its construction combines low weight, durability and a carefully designed layout for installing essential drone components.
With a 75 mm wheelbase, the frame features a 2 mm thick carbon fiber plate that provides a rigid structural foundation. The protective Whoop propeller duct is manufactured from PA12 material, combining impact resistance with the lightweight properties required for compact FPV platforms.
An improved connection between the propeller duct and carbon fiber plate, together with a dedicated DJI O4 Air Unit mounting bracket, provides a practical foundation for assembling a compact FPV drone. This version features a black finish.
Optimized Aerodynamics – Approximately 4% More Thrust
The Pavo Femto Whoop duct incorporates aerodynamic principles inspired by rocket engine nozzles. Its carefully optimized height and wall thickness are designed to improve airflow around the propellers.
According to the manufacturer, the refined duct profile delivers an approximately 4% increase in thrust. The optimized geometry helps improve propeller efficiency while maintaining the compact dimensions of the frame.
This approach is particularly beneficial for small FPV drones, where propulsion efficiency, maneuverability and minimal overall weight are essential for responsive flight performance.
Improved Frame Assembly and Mounting System
The Pavo Femto frame features an upgraded connection between the Whoop propeller duct and the carbon fiber frame plate. Additional supports and positioning elements help ensure proper alignment during assembly.
The carefully designed structure simplifies installation and provides a secure connection between the main frame components. This is particularly important during dynamic FPV flights, when the frame is exposed to vibration and mechanical stress.
The frame supports a 25.5 × 25.5 mm flight controller mounting pattern. Motors are installed using a 3 × M1.4 mounting configuration, with mounting holes arranged on a 6.6 mm diameter circle.
Enhanced Protection for the DJI O4 Air Unit
The Pavo Femto frame includes a dedicated mounting system for the DJI O4 Air Unit digital video transmission module. Its reinforced protective structure is designed to help shield the module's circuit board from mechanical damage.
The mounting assembly consists of a protective cover, a bottom mounting plate and dedicated camera mounting components. This arrangement allows the video transmission system to be integrated into the drone's compact frame.
The modular construction also provides convenient access to individual components during assembly, maintenance or replacement of damaged mounting parts.
Vibration Dampening and Secure Camera Mounting
The frame kit includes rubber vibration dampeners and shock-absorbing pads designed for the flight controller, DJI O4 Air Unit mounting bracket and camera.
These components help reduce the transfer of vibrations from the drone's structure to the FPV electronics. A separate shock-absorbing camera mount provides additional vibration isolation for the camera assembly.
The camera mounting width is 20 mm. The DJI O4 Air Unit mounting bracket is manufactured from PA material and weighs just 6.05 g, helping keep the complete assembly lightweight.
The DJI O4 Air Unit mounting bracket itself is also compatible with BETAFPV Pavo Pico and Pavo20 frames. This compatibility applies specifically to the bracket and does not mean that the complete frames of these models are interchangeable.
