By maximizing the antenna size and using an external mount, we've replaced 2 internal and 2 small external antennas with four large dual-band antennas. This should result in up to a fourfold increase in the drone's operational range.
Additionally, you'll gain significantly better video transmission quality throughout the drone's flight path.
Installing the A148 antenna on the DJI RC2 controller requires device modification. During installation, you'll need to open the controller, disconnect the two internal antennas, and, if necessary, remove the two external omnidirectional antennas (this process is reversible, and they can be restored later). You will also need to drill two holes in the top panel of the controller for the new SMA connectors – this is the only irreversible change that needs to be made.
The antenna installation process takes about 1–2 hours. The kit includes a detailed step-by-step installation guide, both descriptive and illustrated.
